I have heard many great things about the Republic of Singapore leading up to my trip...and all of the rumors were true! This great nation did not disappoint!😊🦁 🌎✈️
I have been doing research and planning for Singapore for many years...so when I finally made it there, I was ready, but not really lol. I only planned a 2 night stay so I had to hit the ground running. I arrived in Singapore around noon, and fortunate for me, my room was ready and they let me check in early. I'd like to say that is one of the benefits of being The Traveling Tattoo but that was just likely the luck of the draw lol. I never usually recommend a Hotel or resort without getting compensated, but I will go ahead and say that The Carlton is one of the best I have stayed at. From the location, the lobby, the view from my room, the bed, the bathroom, and the many food options at breakfast...I couldn't ask any more from a hotel! Ok, now about Singapore!😁 So my first stop was Marina Bay, where most of the main attractions are...such as Merlion, the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, the Art & Science Museum(which looks like a lotus flower), and the Singapore Flyer Ferris Wheel. There are several notable great restaurants located in the Marina Bay Hotel. I choose to dine at LAVO. A fantastic Italian spot with a fantastic view of the city...A vibe!
The next day I set up a walking tour of some of the most renowned neighborhoods in Singapore. The top 3 anyone will tell you you must visit are Little India, Chinatown, and the Kampong Glam neighborhood. There will be some other hidden gems you will see along the way like some notable hotels and cool murals if your tour guide is savvy and knowledgeable.
Additional Note: The Singapore Airport is an experience in itself. There is a waterfall, movie theater, arcade, and plenty of shopping you can do while you wait. Also, make sure you try the country's signature drink, The Singapore Sling while there!
I was greatly impressed with Singapore, even though I did not get a chance to partake and see everything this great city has to offer. But from the 2 days I spent, I can tell you that this is one of my favorite places I have visited in all my travels. And that is saying a lot!
