Every time I go to Paris, I experience something different from the last time. This time around...I call this the Arc de Triumph experience.
I capped my 2022 European adventure with a 2-night stop in Paris. On my previous visits, I have seen the Arc de Triumph but never took the time to make it across the busy street and into the structure itself. I didn't realize you can actually go into it until I did some research lol. Also, I didn't realize there is an underground passageway that gets you over to the Arc de Triumph, without trying to kill yourself dodging cars! The underground passageway has pictures and shows you the history of the Arc de Triumph before you make your way back up to the street level and to the entrance. Once you purchase your tickets and make your way thru security, you climb up 284 winding steps to get to the top where you will find a mini-museum along with a gift shop. A few more stairs and you get to the actual rooftop of the Arc de Triumph for an epic view of the city.
Outside of venturing into the Arc de Triumph, I made a point to venture up the block to check out some high fashion. There is a huge Louis Vuitton store along with Hermes, Gucci, and all the other brands you can think of. The line to get into Louis Vuitton could be around the corner (I waited about 50 mins to get in). By the time I was done and exited the store, the line was even longer! If you are planning a trip and want to visit any of these Paris stores, go online, go to the specific location, and make an appointment. You will be able to go right in without the long wait outside. Also, be sure to carry your passport with you to get taxes off your purchases!
And of course, no visit to Paris is complete without visiting the Eifel Tower. No matter how many times I come to Paris, it never gets old.:)
