Washington D.C. in 24 Hours.

Planning a weekend getaway to D.C. can be fun! You will certainly not be able to see all that our Nation's Capital has to offer in 24 hours, but here are a couple of my personal suggestions!

The National Mall.

Me @ The Jefferson Memorial

D.C. has several great monuments and statues of our founding fathers you can visit. You can certainly burn a couple of hours and a few hundred calories taking them all in! Don't forget to visit the following...The Lincoln Memorial...The Martin Luther King Memorial...The Washington Monument...World War II...and The Vietnam Veterans Memorial ...just to name a few.

The District Wharf

The District Wharf is a great central location for food and entertainment and is actually not too far from The National Mall. There is no shortage of restaurants to choose from and if you are lucky you can catch a band performing as well. Also, there is a Seafood Market where you can purchase the local catch of the day! The District Wharf sits east of The Jefferson Monument and the Tidal Basin (a landscaper's dream of Japanese Cherry Blossoms galore lol).

Additional Note: If you have the time, get tickets to the National Museum of African American History and Culture, it will be a great experience!
